Your website will embrace certain people. Are they the clients you want?

Unless you are selling a commodity "widget", you don't need to speak with everyone who sees your website. But you DO need to connect on an emotional level with those clients that you really want. That connection happens first on an intuitive level.
In conversation it would happen in the sharing of common experiences, friends and business events or the association of trusted places.
